The name of Middlesex, the land of the Middle Saxons was first sown in public useage at least in the Seventh Century AD, over one thousand three hundred years ago. The place name grew under its new name of Middlesex certainly by AD 704 when it was first documented in a land transfer between King Offa of Mercia and the Bishop of London.

Middlesex was to become the most powerful, influential and most noble county in the kingdom for it contained the City of London which, although autonomous for internal government, it was historically, socially, culturally and geographically inextricably linked to the county surrounding it – Middlesex. Middlesex was set to rival the Scots and Irish in populating the New World and the British Empire , mainly due to the magistrates courts in the County which condemned hundreds of thousands of convicts to British lands across the seas.

Not only convicts but those fleeing from religious persecution plus entrepreneurs, merchants and aristocracy who wanted a home from home when they were making their fortune and so named where they colonized after their home county or the town or village they came from within the Capital County . The name of Middlesex made the journey from Great Britain to the brand new sparkling 13 British Colonies in North America, to Canada , to Australia , to Jamaica , to British Honduras (now Belize ) and to other states in the fabulous new country to be christened the United States of America , which soon also comprised of the original lucky 13.

So this website is dedicated to the new Middlesex Family Foundation to be founded at Middlesex , Vermont on Middlesex Day, May 16 th 2006, by none other than Russell Grant, the Lord of Ashford in Staines in Middlesex. In the UK he is famed for his love of Middlesex, British local heritage and even more so nationally for being the British Astrologer Royal and one of the most famous TV celebrities in the United Kingdom and Ireland .
